How to activate preinstalled McAfee software on Windows

Step 1 - Set up your McAfee account and activate your software

1. Open the McAfee software that came preinstalled on your PC and access your account to view your subscription. To learn how to access your account, click one of the following options:

2. In the McAfee website, type your email address, and click Next.

If you already have an account, log in as usual.

If you don’t have an account, create a strong password and click Next.

3. Follow any instructions given once you've logged into your account to finish activating your McAfee software.

Step 2 - Verify your McAfee subscription

Utilize the Verify Subscription tool to sync your installed McAfee software with your new account when activation is complete:

1. On your Windows desktop, in the notification area below the clock, right-click the McAfee symbol. Click Verify Subscription after that.

2. Hold off till the procedure is over. Your software and subscription details will be updated after the process is finished.

Through your account, you can check your subscription information whenever you want. To log into your account, adhere to the directions above.
